16 'Things'

This one in particular is for Sue Weinger, my sister's 'ol friend from Junior High. She had 'tagged' me with 16 things that people don't know about her (assumed that was the topic?). Mmmmmmm....very interesting stuff! OK, so after reading Sue's, I'm ready to do mine now. Gee, 16 is an unusual, and BIG number! Anyway, here it goes:

1. I played the viola in Junior High and was a member of the school orchestra.

2. I still vacuum and sweep my living space as I did when I was a kid. ;-)

3. I was involved in two major automobile accidents in SF before, in 1990 and in 2002. Luckily, I was not seriously injured.

4. I started working at aged 16. Some odd jobs included: cashier @ an ice cream parlor, retail, hardware store, art gallery) babysitter, tutorer & my favorite was being a waitress for 6 years at Sequoias! All earned income went into my little pocket! ;-) How's that for learning about work ethics?!

5. I have an unusual genetic skin problem.

6. I sometimes put on music and dance in my living room for fun! A Party for ONE!!

7. I am a real NERD! I study things A LOT!! And, I don't just do that for school. I do it in my daily life. If I run, I study about it first. If I want to buy new make-up, I study that first. If I want to buy a pair of mittens, I study that too (textile: wool, cashmere, etc..) ;-)

8. My left eye is larger than my right eye. Don't know why.

9. I fell down and scratch my knees while running to catch the 'cable line' at the Great Wall of China!

10. I love animals! (Yes, I study them too! Just studied the Emperor Penguin of Antartica!)

11. Of course I want to settle down, get married and have children! Who doesn't??, as Jennifer Aniston said. I get asked that question A LOT!!

12. I can ice skate pretty well!

13. I value and do volunteer work. (Glide, CES @ SF & ESU & Ronald McDonald House @ HK)

14. Being outdoors (hiking, walking & camping) always tests my traumatic fear of 'violence' When I was 12 years old, a few friends and I were walking home after school in the quiet streets of the Sunset. Suddenly, we were jumped and attacked physically by a group of outsiders (2 of them were from our own school). It took a long time to want to go outside of my own front door even for a walk. We were simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. Every step I take outdoors today is a healing effect from that violent day.

15. I have been to almost 35+ live concerts/music performances in my lifetime and loved every minute of it!

16. My childhood dream is to become a teacher.
