Back to Earth

In 2002, I embarked on a 4-day trekking adventure to Joshua Tree National Park with the Back to Earth Organization led by Ari Derfel and Eric Fenster. In their website, they included a blurb that I had written on Joshua Tree:

So, I am committed to spreading the word about Back to Earth. In fact, when I was at Hong Kong, I wore the 'Back to Earth' shirt every chance I got. It brought smiles to people and I felt obligated and responsible to spread the message behind the Back to Earth vision. Now, another exciting thing is happening to Back to Earth. They are opening a new organic restaurant! I just received the e-mail below and hope this will interest all of you:

While many of you have already heard the buzz, we are excited to formally announce that we are building Terrain, an all-organic restaurant and cafe at the renowned David Brower Center in downtown Berkeley.

Terrain Restaurant and Cafe
In summer 2009 we will open Terrain Restaurant and Cafe at the David Brower Center and the local food landscape will be changed forever.

We're calling it California Comfort Cuisine - all seasonal, organic and local. And best of all - affordable!

We have two patios, a fully organic bar, a cafe, and two dining areas - including one that can be rented for private events.

The architecture is organic as well - reclaimed wood, recycled materials, energy efficient appliances, non-toxic paints, etc.
