Cindy's Finish!

My sister Cindy came through the finish line for the 2009 Avon Breast Cancer Walk of San Francisco on July 12. It was a 2-day event (July 11 & 12) in which participants walked 26 miles on Day 1 and 13 miles on Day 2 totaling 39 miles = 55K to raise funds for breast cancer research. On Day 1 evening, Cindy camped out with her teammates and along with many others had to mend some blisters on their feet and stay hydrated. Then they rose at 7:30am to resume on Sunday morning. In an event like this, proper training and preparation is so crucial. I was cheering at the Finish Line with my brother, brother-in-law and nieces. One person behind us kept shouting, "THANK YOU, THANK YOU!." The special guest was Suze Orman (the financial analyst on Money Talk). She always blow me away with her passion and tell-it-like-it-is attitude. ;-) The event raised 6 million dollars!!! It was fantastic! I was so proud of Cindy's finish! I snapped some photos at the Finish Line at Speedway Meadows at Golden Gate Park. A gorgeous and exciting day! Let's continue the fight against cancer!
