My grandmother's house has a lovely garden kept and maintained by my uncle and aunt. She bought the house in 1968 and through renovation, it's still as lovely as ever. My grandmother's no longer with us having passed at the age of 96 in 2006.
Her spirit and soul still stirs the large house. The sun room adjacent to the garden is decorated with a a small couch and coffe table, a large fish tank, a bamboo-style dining set, huge plants, and Buddha statues. My mom and I really enjoyed the afternoon just relaxing there. My cousin Olivia also taught me how to make video movies with songs, something that I needed to brush up on. My grandmother's garden is a gem, a sanctuary for the soul, in the heart of a bustling city like San Francisco. When I'm relaxing in it, I breath in the life force that I try not to take for granted. She would be happy to know that we appreciate what she had left behind, and most of al we could still feel her presence today.
