farewell

As I'm writing this, Bruno (my sister's poodle) is being put to sleep after 17 years on earth, which would make him 85 years old in human years. We said a final farewell to him last evening even though it was pouring rain and cold outside. It was very hard for me and all of us to get through the days, just thinking of how much love and joy Bruno had given us and the magnificent memories that I have of him - his barking, his cuddles, his food of chicken and pasta, his little footsteps, his haircuts that make him even cuter, and many many more..

My sister told me he will be cremated and his ashes buried in her backyard. And, my nieces have been incredibly sad and crying a lot. It will be their first encounter with major loss in their lives. I feel for them for the moment. It's painful to lose someone or something so precious and loving. I pray that Bruno is in heaven and won't have to suffer anymore. That thought gives me peace and I hope for the rest of my family too.

Thanks for reading.
