On November 14, I was able to see and watch the renowned Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh at the Hong Kong Convention Center. To be in the presence of the most 'calmly' human being is enlightenment in itself. His talk was on the theme of 'Happiness Here and Now.' I always feel very deeply that happiness is not external but generated from within.
Thay (means 'teacher' in Vietnamese) offered words of wisdom and enlightenment to almost 8,000 of us in the audience. He also carried us through a meditation chant that had me completely at ease and at peace. I even shed a few 'happy' tears knowing that his words ring true to my heart and mind, and every breath that I and all of us inhale and exhale is a gift of life. It is magnificent and Thay's reverence to life, love and happiness in the path of the Buddha is where I feel most comfortable and at home. Namaste. Love & Peace!
