Autumn Calls

Autumn Calls

Autumn called me back home
the whistles of the wind
brushed against my familiar
four-paned window,
the'Indian Summer' as it's known
in the Bay Area
coming on orange through dusk
til dawn, coming on strong
through peaches, pears, grapes
and pumpkins
it's been so long,
tasty & crispy like the air
inhaled and exhaled
some baseball cheers,
some jazz sensations trickled off
the minutes of the hour,
some Diana Krall, Nat King Cole
and some Miles Davis
soothing my restlessness
moving through my vortex,
slowly with the
harvest moon
it ushers in
opportunity,
ripe and organic
to be called
to be summoned
it does so with
magic, all in its
rhythm & rhyme,
thank you Autumn
thank you for your
call.
