During my 12-hour flight home to San Francisco on Monday, I listened to music on Cathay Pacific airway. I was impressed with the impeccable music selection which ranged from Classical, Classical Vocals, Dance, Pop, Cantonese Pop, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Soundtracks, Greatest Hits, to all-time "Classics." I browsed through every single CD which may have been up to 300+ and created an 8-hour playlist that not only killed time but satisfied my ears.
One single made me go back to it over and over again. It was Eric Clapton's 1996 hit "My Father's Eyes" which I have attached here from You Tube. This single brought me back to so many places with my father, who has passed on in 2003 and remains sorely missed. What I have learned is that music transports our minds to different moments of time and without it, life would be a wound without a band-aid. I don't think I could live without music especially on a 12-hour flight! Hope you enjoy this beautiful video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOkepY_Zj8c!
