In 1998, I bought a book called, 'Learning to Meditate' by David Fontana, PhD. I was searching for a way to combat the stress of daily life. In fact, now I've learned that we are made of energies and at day's end, I tend to absorb a lot of other people's energy, that are not necessarily positive. To this very day, I meditate at least 5 minutes every night. It helps me achieve a sense of calmness, develop an awareness of my mind and body, tap into my creativity and renew my positive energy. It's not complicated at all. All you need is a peaceful setting and a focus on concentration, attention and breath. Focus on good feelings and wonderful images and when your mind wanders, pull it back to the image. It will wander for sure. When you practice this often, you will learn how to be mindful and detach from negative feelings and thoughts that do not serve the greater good of you. And, when you travel through your life's journey, a sense of peace and calmness will carry you through. The secret is meditation which is a very powerful tool. Here's to healthy living!
