Last evening, my cousin Vicky and I attended Larry Z.'s, a former colleague/supervisor's 50th Birthday party at the Berkeley Hills.
I really enjoyed catching up with Vicky and seeing Larry Z and his partner Helen, and their adorable dog, Butch. Larry Z received so many gag gifts that I couldn't stop laughing - a pill box, a construction hat with tools, a puzzle with BIG letters,etc.. And, a mysterious dancer came out with the birthday cake! It was one of a kind!
I've known Larry for 1o years since my days at the corporate world, which were memorable days and far away from teaching. I was fortunate to have met great people during that time and Larry Z was one of them. And, I particularly enjoyed catching up with my cousin Vicky last night. She is ONE cousin who looks like me and is always mistaken as my younger sibling. COOL! I've seen her grow up over the years from when she was a baby in 1986 til now at her post-university time. I admire her adventuresome, independence, and confidence. She's been awfully busy with fulfilling her internship at CPMC in the health care nutrition field and has accomplished a great deal. I know her path is bright and filled with possibilities.....and I'm so glad we're cousins.
