the Human Experience.

"To us, Sundance is and always will be a dream. What you see, smell, taste and feel here is a dream being carefully nurtured. It is an area whose pledge is to people. What we offer in the form of art and culture, spirit and service, is homegrown and available to all."

- Robert Redford

One of my favorite company catalog is called 'Sundance'. In 1998, I luckily received a copy by accident in my mailbox, and instantly fell in love with and subscribed to the beautiful catalog. The whole idea of Sundance originated from the actor Robert Redford who bought a piece of land in Utah in 1969 and dedicated it to promote and support independent filmmakers, local creative jewelry artists, clothing designers and the environmental conservation cause. Who would thought this was even possible 40 years ago?? Everytime this catalog sits on my coffee table, it stirs up curiosity and interest. It's no wonder. More than just the artistry side of the company that have captivated me is Redford's contagious passion and vision to give something back to our environment in which it has given him and all of us so much joy and natural beauty. Remember now, this was 40 years ago even before the environmental movement have sprung up within the last decade. If you get a chance, visit the website http://www.sundancecatalog.com and learn more about the commitment of Sundance. I have learned immensely from Sundance that we can combine culture, art and the environment and create, honor and support a business community that thrive on what they could offer us and what we could give back in our consumerism. I hope Sundance inspires you to support similar causes or even be more environmentally conscious especially when you start your holiday shopping this year! The cute pair of mittens shown above is on my wishlist this holiday. A toast to Sundance! Cheers!
