Recuperation

I have been awfully sick with a terrible flu since last Thursday, but still made it to Seattle & Vancouver for Springbreak over the weekend. I flew back last night and made it home late late - 12:40am. Flight was delayed at Seattle due to a volcano eruption?? Thank you to my cousin Sarah who made my stay comfortable, warm, and memorable. I miss you already. I hope to reflect on my trip in the next blog entry with highlights and photos. In the meantime, I went back to school today (THUR) and got through the long day with some awesome classmates - Jill & Cady! 7 hours seemed to fly by so fast even with a clogged ear, stuffy nose, and coughing that hurt the chest! Stuck it out because it was my way of 'getting through' the week.

Meanwhile, I'm going to avoid stepping into the living room since my mom is still on chemotherapy and I really want to avoid getting her sick too. Her immune system is down and she's very careful to maintain her health. She's doing excellent after her 3rd dose of chemotherapy today (just one more to go!!!). I drove her to the oncologist early this morning and wore a mask in the driver's seat - funny site! I haven't done that since I was at Hong Kong. Mom can't wait to travel again when she's done with her treatments by late May. She deserve a trip around the world!!! She's a great inspiration and do not look 'ill' whatsoever. She defies what cancer is supposed to do to people. That fighting spirit is what I'm picking up as a metaphor for life. So, tonight I'm looking forward to an evening of rest and tomorrow Friday some more studies, then meeting up with my runner friends - Macy, Mel, Clarissa, Lisa, Lucy - Saturday morning at Java Cafe/Ocean Beach 8am sharp for that RUN! I miss RUNNING and can't wait to get back into it!

'09 keeps on going.....will not be stuck in the rut and will keep on fighting! I'm going to beat this flu! Check back later in good health. Bye now.
