reunion

On July 10, I enjoyed a reunion with a few gal friends from high school. Let's see, that's close to 20 years ago...can't believe it!! ;-0

My friend Natalie came back from Hawaii for a hometown visit. The last time I saw her was about 2 years ago. Nat planned to get re-acquainted with Nancy, Janine, Beverly, and Josette over dinner at her house.

I have to say all of us look the same, not one line of wrinkle, but maybe a few minor strands of white hair. ;-) We chatted over cheesecake and tea til 1:00am.
I was a little concerned about not being able to get up for the Saturday morning run. By midnight, I just said what the heck! How often do I get to see everyone and sit and talk like old times? We had so much to catch up and talk about that it seemed time had frozen in space. Sometimes it baffles me that we have reached our
mid-30's. Are we that grown up? It sure doesn't feel like it.

Personally, I think I like myself now more than ever before. I'm more comfortable in my own skin and enjoy growing into who I am meant to be. I feel so blessed more and more. I think our paths in life are so different, and we internalize different experiences from different moments of our lives. But we are also similar in that we have a bond from high school, and the joy we share with each other is palpable. That joy doesn't escape or leave us no matter how many years have gone by. Nat returns to Hawaii on July 16. I was glad she was able to bring us together to the table. Perhaps it was long overdue. Cheers to love, life and laughter, all found in friends, especially old high school friends! Thanks for reading!
