Summer Titles

My shipment of books from amazon.com is arriving at San Francisco when I return home this week. I suddenly have a renewed excitement with reading this summer. Here are my titles (no particular order):

1) Factory Girl - By Leslie T. Chang - recommended to me by my friend Carmela here in Hong Kong.
2) A Thousand Splendid Suns - By Khaled Hosseini. the same writer of The Kite Runner. My Panel Head recommended this one.
3) Orientalism - By Edward Said - i've read passages in grad school and wanted to return to it and read the entire book.
4) The Pot and How to Use It: The Mystery and Romance of the Rice Cooker - By
Roger Ebert - I want to do as much with my rice cooker as possible!
5) Discourse on Colonialism - By Aimé Césaire - I'm still on this discourse especially in Hong Kong.
6) Taking the Leap: Freeing Ourselves from Old Habits and Fears - By Pema Chodron - Continuing on my spiritual growth!
7) The Age of Innocence - By Edith Wharton - saw the movie more than 10X. It's about time I read the book!

Happy Summer Reading! It never gets old!
