Babies Celebrations!

On June 28, I attended two very good friends' baby's celebrations. Natalie flew into San Francisco from Hawaii with her husband Larry and baby Kawai and hosted a Red Egg Ginger Party at South San Francisco. I was very happy to see Nat and was excited to meet Kawai for the very first time. He's 8 months old and was born on October 22, 2008, one day before my mom's birthday. He's adorable and looks 100% Hawaiian and his name is pronounced 'Kavai', the 'w' has a 'v' sound. Since I've known Nat since I was 12 years old, I consider her like family. We hope to do some hiking before she returns to Hawaii in mid-July.

On the same day, I also attended Shirley's son's baptism luncheon at Fremont, CA. Since the baptism coincided with Nat's Red Egg Ginger Brunch, I missed the ceremony but was glad to have made it to the late luncheon afterwards. Baby Ethan was born on December 18, 2008 and is of Chinese and Filipino heritage. Shirley and I have been friends since I was 14 years old. She's like a sister to me.

It is imperative that I make it to both celebrations back to back since I missed both Shirl's and Nat's weddings when I was living and working at Hong Kong. I enjoyed the warm and sunny day and seeing all my old gal friends, and celebrating babies is always FUN. ;-) And, at the end, I crashed at my sister Cindy's house where my other sister Susan was out celebrating her 11th Wedding Anniversary, and so we hung out with all my nieces, making delicious home-made chocolate chip cookies! YUMMY! I'll need to burn off everything this week! ;-)
