a beloved dog

I had no idea that Cesar Millan's pitbull dog 'Daddy' died on February 19, 2010. I just found out last night. I had to blog about this beloved dog, who has quite a following in the U.S. and I'm a big fan! If anyone of you watch 'The Dog Whisperer' on the National Geographic Channel, you would recognize Daddy, who is the sweet, calm-submissive and lovable sidekick to Cesar. Cesar uses Daddy to serve as a pack leader, and role model around other wild, nervous and aggressive dogs of his clients that need rehabilitating. One episode showed Cesar training another puppy pitbull 'Junior' to be Daddy's predecessor. Since Daddy was aging, (he died at age 16), Cesar wanted Junior to learn from Daddy and be the next pack leader. Pitbulls tend to have a bad reputation, known to be an aggressive breed of dogs. But, Cesar really proved the public wrong. Daddy is one of the most lovable pitbull, and by being a role model, people's perception of pitbulls has really been influenced by Daddy, so did mine!

Below is a video of Cesar's surprise. A client gave him a gift, and he brings Daddy in to see it. I love to see Daddy walk into a room. All the other tiny dogs would sniff at him, and other more aggressive dogs on Cesar's rehabilitation work, would be nervous and insecure, but Daddy would just stand or sit there calmly and be himself. R.I.P. Daddy. You were a great dog!
